Nestled in between the colorful coal region to the north and the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch country in the south, the family owned Friedensburg Country Restaurant has been pleasing local appetites for many years.
With an extensive menu, customers can enjoy a wide variety of items ranging from seafood, steaks, homemade soups, sandwiches, burgers, and of course, old fashioned Pennsylvania Dutch cooking. Each day features a different special, with customers having their own mouth pleasing favorites. On Fridays, the restaurant serves broiled haddock and macaroni and cheese, a crowd favorite.
For the guests over 55 years of age, a popular senior portion is available for many of the items on the menu. For several years, the restaurant has been voted in the top three for the best breakfast in the annual “Best of Schuylkill County” contest.
After your delicious meal, try an item from the restaurant’s in-house bakery. Homemade chocolate cake with peanut butter icing is a beloved local dessert. A seasonal favorite is apple dumplings made with apples grown from the owners’ orchards.
For a meal reminiscent of grandma’s good home cooking, stop by the Friedensburg Country Restaurant, located next to C&C Candies and Country Store in Friedensburg.
